STEVEN (STEVE) NEILL
Email for availability, pricing and size
Neill was raised in a traditional sign shop in Newport Beach, California. He painted his first sign at age 12 under his father's watchful eye. Learning the business directly from his father and other "old masters" in the sign painting company were artistically stimulating for Neill. He was able to mingle with the greatest sign painters and refine his own talents as a creator of artistic signs.
His training included many facets of the industry, such as hand layout and lettering, window gold-leafing, large billboards, lettering race cars and even old airplanes for the movies.
After living in Sun Valley, Idaho, for many years, he moved his family to the Big Island in 1994, where he began his commercial sign company. His love of "old signs" and old Hawaiian commercial art led him to develop his own signature look of vintage style Hawaiiana signs. He became so well known and successful in this art form that he eventually passed on the commercial business to his son, a 3rd generation sign painter.
Neill's signs have appeared in many well-known national publications, such as Conde Nast Traveler, Orange County Home, Coastal Living and Architectural Digest.
Every sign is hand laid out and painted, hand antiqued, signed and numbered on the back.
